Per the 2002 NEC code a bubble cover shield is required on all outside weatherproof receptacles. For safety reasons we’re also required to install a weather rated GFCI receptacle.
We drilled a hole right through the bricks and connected power to a dedicated circuit. With the right tools this can be done in a couple hours!
