SOLAR INSTALLATION

Washington Electric and Generator - Your Partner for Solar and Backup Powe

At Washington Electric and Generator, we specialize in providing comprehensive solar and backup power solutions for residential and commercial clients in Washington State. Our team is committed to delivering high-quality solar services, including remote assessments, 3D modeling, shade analysis, and customized designs. We also offer Enphase and Generac battery options for backup power.

Our Process

We begin with a remote assessment of your roof using high definition photography and the latest solar modeling software, including LiDAR data. From this, we will build a 3D model and perform a shade analysis for your roof. We then create a preliminary quote, including panel layout and cost for the system. Once the preliminary quote is complete (about 3-5 business days), one of our design consultants will email it to you, then follow up with a phone call or email to answer your questions and discuss a potential design consultation to finalize the quote.

To determine how much of your usage will be offset by solar, we need to know how much power you use. Therefore, please send a recent copy of your power bill, with a bar graph showing one or two years of data, depending on the utility. Without this information, we will be unable to determine the number of panels needed. Net metering in Washington makes it impractical to produce more power than you use annually.

We also need to know the age and material of your roof so that we can quote the appropriate roof mounting system. It is recommended that your roof have at least 10 years of life remaining before installing solar. Removing and replacing the solar system for a re-roof adds significant cost to your roofing project. Our solar panels, inverters, and work are warrantied for 25 years.

Enphase and Generac Battery Options

We offer the Enphase and Generac battery options for backup power. For a home’s light loads of 30A and under, one battery is typically needed for one day of backup (e.g., refrigerator, lights, phone charging, TV, microwave, computer, router). For full house backup and/or heavy loads of 40-50A (e.g., electric water heater, clothes dryer, central AC, electric furnace, pumps), two or more batteries are required. Larger loads, such as EV charging, radiant heat, and hot tubs, require three or more batteries. If the appliances are used sparingly, the batteries can last longer. We can help you determine the number of kWh of backup power you require. One battery typically costs between $13,000 and $15,000 installed after the 30% federal tax credit. Two batteries installed typically cost $20,000-$22,000 after the tax credit, and three batteries cost $27,000-$29,000 after the tax credit. This pricing does not include the cost of solar.
