image

A 10,000 watt generator provides 37.5amps on natural gas and 41.6amps on propane! Is this big enough for you? Try our online generator sizing calculator click here.

Please also notice in the picture a labor and industries permit has been pulled and is posted between the Generac transfer switch and the main electrical panel. This protects the homeowner, the cost is minimal, and a competent contractor should have no fear about passing inspections.

The trenching is complete for the electrical, gas, and also the natural-gas line. It is import to know the full load consumption of your generator to properly size the gas line. This 10kw and the newer Generac model 5871 all have a full load fuel consumption of 156k btu. We used in-house technicians to install this gas line. This was permitted through city of Auburn. The most important part of the gas line installation is to perform a pressure test. After we perform this the inspector will come to verify that our installation is safe at that the gas lines are holding pressure. The generator hasn’t been set in place yet and you can see it is still mounted to the generator cart. We use this specially made generator cart on all our generator installations. Any contractor that hadn’t invested in this simple but specialized equipment isn’t serious about installing 400 lb Generators.
