This allows power to be supplied to any circuit in the panel (up to the portable generators capability)
There is more than one style of generator bracket, but the basic operation is identical.
We tested the system after the work was completed and it could even run the dryer, but only if we shut off all the other circuits. It was fun to try the dryer (but the homeowner really doesnt have plans to use the dryer during an outage)
What it really worked fantastic for was the lights, furnace, freezer, fridge, and micro! During an outage the homeowner has the basics covered.
