100 feet of trenching later we installed our wire in our fresh trench. We scheduled the city of Des Moines electrical inspector the same day and were given approval for cover. The required burial depth for this type of residential install is 24″.
We also had to splice onto existing conductors to extend them to the new outbuilding. We used a very nice ul listed direct bury splice kit.
We installed 6 lamp t8 vapor tight fixtures to provide light for the exercise equipment and basketball court inside this large pole barn.
The ceiling was so high inside we had to use out little giant sky scraper ladder to install the florescent light fixtures. This ladder is so tall that it gets up to 21′ in the A frame position!
